The prevalence of leukocyte abnormalities among Sudanese patients with sickle cell disease

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is an inherited blood disorder that affects red cells. The study was conducted in Elobied town during the period May 2011 to September 2011. aim of this detect abnormalities leucocytes among sickle anemic patients. 40 patients; age range between 8 months 23 years. Blood sample taken for all patients and laboratory investigation were performed using automated estimation for: hemoglobin (Hb), Packed volume (PCV), count (RBCs), mean (MCV), (MCH), concentration (MCHC), total white cells, comment on film manual methods. conclusion there increase cells with shift left neutrophil precursor complications ,the most immature are band form, myelocytes metamyelocytes, also lymphocytosis neutrophilia which has been increases response infections.
